This Privacy and Cookie Policy clarifies how Profit Bid treats your personal data in compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Romanian data protection legislation.

Depending on whether you subscribe as an individual (B2C) or a company (B2B), we may process:

- Email address (mandatory, for account & receipts)

- Billing address (line 1, city, postal code, country)
- VAT/Tax ID (companies only)
- Payment information (processed securely via third-party providers; Profit Bid never stores full payment card details).
We also collect technical data (IP, browser, device type, access logs) for security and analytics purposes.

3.1 Cookies on profit-bid.com
Profit Bid uses cookies on our own website (www.profit-bid.com) to:

3.2 Cookies on your connected storefront (your responsibility)
If you use Profit Bid with your e-commerce store (for example WooCommerce), your store may set first-party cookies for ad attribution and conversion measurement (such as wtrk_gclid, wtrk_pbid, and marketing-consent cookies like wtrk_ad_user_data).
You are the data controller for visitors to your store. Profit Bid acts as a data processor when processing order and conversion data on your instructions. You — not Profit Bid — must:
- Publish a privacy and cookie notice on your storefront that describes these technologies.
- Implement and maintain a consent mechanism (for example Complianz, Cookiebot, or an equivalent CMP) where required by law.
- Classify and manage Profit Bid cookies in your CMP and obtain consent before non-essential cookies where applicable.
Profit Bid provides technical setup guides only. We do not operate a cookie banner on your store and do not provide legal advice. To the extent permitted by law, Profit Bid is not responsible for your storefront cookie compliance.

4. Use of Data
Profit Bid uses your data only for legitimate business purposes:
- To provide and improve the Service.
- To issue invoices and receipts.
- To comply with Romanian and EU tax laws.
- To send service-related communications (renewals, updates, system notices).
- To send marketing communications, if you have given consent (you may withdraw at any time).
5. Access and Security
- Your personal data can only be accessed by users linked to your account and selected Profit Bid employees bound by confidentiality.
- Profit Bid stores data in secure systems with industry-standard encryption and isolation.
- Data is never disclosed to third parties, except for trusted processors (hosting, backups, payments).
6. Google Data (Integrations)
Profit Bid may integrate with Google Ads, Google Analytics 4, and Google Merchant Center.
- We use these integrations only for transmitting product and conversion data, fetching ad performance reports, and analytics.
- We may also read the connected Google account’s email address to help you identify which account is linked.
- Profit Bid never discloses Google integration data to third parties but may provide anonymized and aggregated statistics for industry insights.
7. Data Processors & Transfers
Profit Bid uses third-party providers (hosting, payment processing, analytics).
- All processors are under Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) ensuring GDPR compliance.
- Data may be transferred outside the EU (e.g., to US-based providers). In such cases, Profit Bid ensures adequate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses, GDPR-approved mechanisms).
8. Retention Period
We retain personal data only as long as necessary:
- Subscription & billing data: 5 years (Romanian tax law).
- Support communications: up to 3 years.
- Marketing data: until you withdraw consent.
- Store performance data: order-level snapshots and daily product metrics are kept for up to 60 days; older periods are stored as monthly KPI aggregates (revenue, COGS, profit, Google Ads spend, POAS/ROAS) per store for dashboard reporting.
After expiration, data is deleted or anonymized.
9. Your GDPR Rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data.
- Request correction or deletion.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Data portability (receive data in machine-readable format).
- Withdraw consent for marketing.

11. Updates to Policy
Profit Bid may update this Privacy and Cookie Policy from time to time. Updates will be published on our website. Continued use of the Service after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
12. Platform Telemetry
When you connect your e-commerce store (WooCommerce, Shopify, or other supported platforms) to Profit Bid, the platform may process limited technical and usage telemetry to operate the service, detect abuse, provide support, and improve reliability.
Data processed:
- Store identity: store domain, platform type, connection status.
- Technical versions: platform version, integration version, timestamp.
- Store currency and currency symbol.
- Feature status: Google Ads connection, conversion configuration, product labeling status.
- Store metrics: aggregated order counts, sales totals, COGS, and profit figures (last 30 days).
- Order snapshot: order ID, date, order number, product value, COGS, profit, Google Ads upload status.
Not sent: customer name, customer email, phone number, billing/shipping address, order notes, or payment card data.
Profit Bid platform telemetry does not include customer personal data, order-level personal identifiers, or payment card data.
Processing is based on legitimate interest for service security, support, fraud prevention, and product improvement. Telemetry data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes above and in accordance with applicable legal obligations.
