Consent, CMP, and Enhanced Conversions

Per-order CMP signals win over the store Google Ads consent fallback. Click-ID uploads can still run; hashed PII for Enhanced Conversions / CAPI only when ad user data (and where required personalization) is GRANTED.

CMP by store platform

Profit Bid’s platform consent config:

  • WooCommerce — built-in Profit Bid cookie banner (CMP) v1.1.5+ under Profit Bid → Settings → Cookie consent (cmp_cookies)
  • Shopify — Shopify Customer Privacy API (shopify_privacy_api)
  • PrestaShop / Shopware / OpenCart — Profit Bid cookie banner in module/app (cmp_cookies)
  • BigCommerce — Script Manager + your CMP (cmp_cookies)

Cookies involved

Functional click cookies include wtrk_gclid / wtrk_pbid (and platform equivalents). Marketing cookies include wtrk_ad_user_data and wtrk_ad_personalization. Connect UI explains that GCLID uploads still run when a click ID exists even if Enhanced Conversions PII is omitted.

How consent affects uploads

Per-order CMP overrides the store fallback (gads_consent_mode: granted / denied / unspecified). Google: Enhanced Conversions userIdentifiers only if adUserData === GRANTED. Meta / TikTok: uploads are blocked only on explicit DENIED; hashed PII requires GRANTED signals as implemented in consent helpers.

Legal responsibility

Your storefront still owns lawful consent collection and privacy policy. Profit Bid consumes consent flags on orders/events; it does not replace your CMP or legal review.
